Salman Khan’s long term girl friend Katrina Kaif is all set to play a lead role opposite to the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, in Yash Chopra’s upcoming film ‘Chandni’ and the actress not hesitated at all while praising Sallu’s arch rival. This is the first time Katrina is working with SRK and the actress has insisted that she got a lot of help from the Bollywood Baadshah.

Katrina informed Mumbai Mirror, “I shot with Shah Rukh for five days before my Ek Tha tiger schedule in Cuba. We had never worked before. And I tend to be a bit reserved on the sets. Shah Rukh has shot several times with Yashji. This is my first. But I was made to feel at home from Day 1. Shah Rukh is very helpful. He is helping me understand my character better.”

There were a lot noises in the air about Katrina. It was being said that perhaps Katrina is signing a film with the Tamil superstar, Rajinikanth. However, when asked, the actress rubbished all reports, as she stated she is already very busy and doesn’t have time to do anymore projects. “I can’t take up any other assignment till this is over. I would be doing injustice to this film if I did. It is best that I surrender completely to this film. I can feel it will be special,” added Katrina.

‘Chandni’ is the remake of the 1989 cult classic of the same name. In the movie Katina will recreate the magic of Sridevi, who starred in the original film. If reports are to be believed then Katrina’s role requires her to work on her body language. As per the sources in the movie the actress will be seen as a typical Yash Chopra’s seductress, wearing a quintessential chiffon saree. Well, all said and done, it looks as if after the stupendous success of Karan Johar’s ‘Agneepath’; the trend of remaking movies has once again come back in the Bollywood industry. Nevertheless, let’s see if the new ‘Chandni’ can really overshadow the original one.

Being the Dhoom girl doesn't come easy. Actresses have transformed themselves overnight to be the sensuous bikini donning divas for YRF's prized franchise before. Now, it is Katrina Kaif's turn.

Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Kat too is going out of her way to get into a better shape. For Dhoom 3 that goes on floors this July, Kat has already planned a hard-core gymnastic training session. She is also following a strict macrobiotic diet plan.

Talking about the diet, a friend of Katrina informed Mumbai Mirror, "The diet is high in natural, unprocessed foods. It has a lot of complex carbohydrates and vegetables. It's low in saturated fats. It could be considered a weight loss diet since it has a potentially lower calorie count. However, macrobiotic is a way of life. It's not just another weight loss fad. The diet will help her with her stamina."

With the diet in place, Katrina's training too has begun. In fact, the actress, who is currently shooting for her other YRF venture Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan in Cuba, has been taking time off from her schedule for the exercise routine. She has also hired a trainer for herself.

She was almost confirmed as the co-star of Rajinikanth in his upcoming film Kochadaiyaan, but Deepika Padukone landed the role. Yes, Kat was approached for it, but her chock-a-block diary didn’t allow her to do the movie with the superstar.

Meanwhile, for the last few days some of the producers are busy issuing statements saying, “We are in talks with Katrina for our upcoming projects”. But, Katrina Kaif has a different story altogether. Her manager is quoted as saying, “Apart from Soundarya Rajinikanth (for Kochadaiyaan), there has been no direct communication with any of the other producers down south.(sic)”

Strange! If Katrina is not directly approached for these films then from where are such reports generating? The actress’ manager admits that Kat is offered several south movies through liaison agents, but there has been no direct conversation of any sort with any of the established banners.

For many who don’t know, Katrina has earlier worked in the south films and has even done a movie with Venkatesh. She will be more than happy to do a south film again. Her manager says, “Katrina is a deep admirer of cinema made in the south and she is also fully clued into the legendary status of some of the leading men. She has utmost respect for Mohanlal, Mammootty, Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth.”

However, there’s no south film in her kitty presently. But for now she is busy with the Khans. She is shooting for Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan. A Yash Chopra film with Shahrukh Khan is in the pipeline and soon Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan will go on floors.

Kat's dates for 2012 are clearly divided between Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger and Shah Rukh Khan's Diwali release (being directed by Yash Chopra). There are also commercial endorsements, appearances and she is committed to shooting for Dhoom-3 with Aamir Khan. A source informs us that Katrina was sincerely trying to find those seven days for Soundarya's Kochadaiyaan but couldn't manage to eventually.

Mumbai: Katrina Kaif is on a roll in the South. She has been offered Rajnkanth's comeback film post his illness, Kochadaiyyan. All formalities including the money (reportedly a whopping Rs 5 crores) have been agreed on.

But just when she was to ink the deal comes Kamal Haasan with an offer to play the lead in his Hindi-Tamil-Telugu anti-corruption epic Amar Hai that goes on the floors by year-end. Says a friend close to Katrina, "She's very eager to work with Rajnikant. It's like a wish come true for every Indian actress to do at least one film with him.

And Kamal Haasan is Kamal Haasan. And to be offered a film by him is a big honour. Between shooting for the two Yashraj films with Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, she has to find the time to squeeze in the Tamil icons."

According to the Kochadaiyyan producers Katrina's portions are all that remains to be shot. Kamal Haasan's film has some pronounced advantages for Katrina. Says the source, "Firstly she's a big Kamal Haasan fan. Secondly though Kamaji plays the title role of Amar in the film, Kat has a dream role in Amar Hai, the kind that she has never played before."Haasan confirmed Katrina's presence in the project. "She has been approached by the producer. It would be lovely to have her on board. The role suits her perfectly."

Jackie Chan will be seen playing a pivotal role in the which will have its versions in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The lead roles will be done by Mohanlal, Kamal Hassan and Prabhas respectively. After couple of sizzling item numbers, Katrina Kaif will be seen doing some daredevil stunts for her upcoming film, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ directed by Kabir Khan under the supervision of Hollywood action director Conrad Palmisano. The stunt director is making Katrina do some daredevil stunts and she is doing very bravely. Salman Khan makes sure that she was not hurt.

"These are stunts that any macho hero would think twice before daring. Katrina is really pushing the envelope as far as the female machismo is concerned. She is doing free-falls with Salman by her side. We hear Kareena in `Agent Vinod` and Kangna Ranaut in `Krrish 2` would also be attempting the hi-jinks...," said the unit member.

When asked about her daredevil act, Katrina said: "Yeah, it`s scary but great fun. I`ve only done very feminine delicate roles so far. This is a new challenge for me. I guess that`s what I`m looking for at this stage of my career."

Apparently Palmisano initially suggested "something softer" for Katrina. The actress is preparing for them every morning. "She wakes up at the crack of dawn to get warmed up for Palmisano`s stunts. Then she gets down to action. Very risky ones, I might add which many of our Bollywood heroes would insist on being done by doubles. Lekin Katrina mein ek junoon hai. She is out to prove she can do action scenes as well...," said the source.

After dominating Bollywood, it seems Katrina Kaif has set her eyes on South film industry as she is set to romance Kamal Hassan in Thalaivan Irukiran, according to grapevine. The 27-year-old was apparently very keen to attach herself with the project, which might also feature Tamil film star Ajith.

The movie will be produced by Aascar Ravichandran. However, this is not the only film that would keep the former model busy in Southern film industry, as she might even play South’s legendary actor Rajinikanth’s love interest in his daughter Soundanarya’s film Kochadaiyaan.
