While expressing how happy she was at the response Chikni Chamei was getting, Katrina had recently revealed that Chikni Chameli didn’t come easy, saying, “It was hard work. It was very fast and it was not a style I was used to, but I took it as a challenge...I think we all went for it as a team and did the best we could. I am happy people are liking it.”
It was director Karan Malhotra who decided to use the Marathi song Komdi Palali, and Amitabh Bhattacharya re-wrote the lyrics for Agneepath. The song video has been choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, who had to get Katrina comfortable with doing lavni style dancing.
And how exactly does the song fit into the movie? Karan reveals that the song features when Kancha (played by a devilish looking Sanjay Dutt) organises a celebration for Vijay (played by Hrithik Roshan) who comes to meet him. Enough said, watch the Chikni Chameli Making video to hear more exciting tidbits from the films cast and crew:
If you have not had your fill, and want to watch Katrina Kaif hang by a chandelier, lights a match by a mere rub on her chikni body and flaunt a pahua (a quarter) on her patli kamar. The actress has put to shade the gyration of Sheila Ki Jawani with her spirited bump and grind in this racy item song that has her dressed as a Maharashtrian girl and dancing with abandon in a group of ruffians. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead, with Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor in negative roles, Karan Johar’s remake of Agneepath will open worldwide on January 26th, 2012.
